Winner of the 2001 National Golf Course Environment Competition, this historic course opened in 1898 by Prime Minister A.J. Balfour was also enjoyed by Sir Winston Churchill. Set out in spacious and beautiful heath land the course has hosted a number of championships including the English Seniors in 1994, the British Ladies in 1951 and the English Ladies on several occasions.

Although hilly in places it allows wonderful views some 30 miles across some of the finest countryside in the south of England.
