Distances (meters/yards/par):
Championship 6474 / 7080 / 72
Men 5993 / 6554 / 72
Ladies 4928 / 5389 / 74

The highest rated of the three courses at the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, the Killeen course has been the venue for several international tournaments including the 1991 & 92 Carrols Irish Open, which Nick Faldo won on both occasions.

When making the TV series the Shell Wonderful World of Golf, Gene Saracen besides suggesting that the 18th was one of the most memorable holes in golf also suggested that when a wind is blowing off the lake even the best players in the world would be hard pressed to break 80.

Playing here is as much about the beauty of the surroundings as the golf itself although Henry Longhurst, the golf commentator, warned that “The trouble with the playing of championships in a place like this is that only a man devoid of soul can apply his mind to the golf”.

The large club house, which also serves the Mahoney's Point course, is an ideal place to enjoy a meal or just relax after the challenge of the course.
