Made famous as the watering hole and lodgings for the Ryder Cup teams in 1997, the San Roque Hotel ha s two 18 hole courses The Old, designed by Dave Thomas & The New , opened in 2003, designed by Perry Dye. The Old course hosted the 2005 Open de Espana, the New will host the same competition in 2006. For a number of years the European PGA has used the club as its Spanish HQ.

The Old, starts out through a cork forest, similar to its neighbour Valderrama and then makes it way into more open country with the finishing holes laid out around a delightfully landscaped lake.

Heavily sculptured, with masses of sand, water and grass of the wild and thick variety, The New course has all the Dye touches, railway sidings et all.

Two very different courses, both exceptionally challenging.

The hotel bar acts as the refreshment centre offering a good selection of snacks and lunchtime dishes served on the terrace.
