Located on the northern tip of Morocco, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and Africa lies within sight of Europe across the Strait of Gibraltar, Royal Cabo Negro was laid out as a nine holler in 1976 by the British Hawtree & Sons. The course was renovated and extended to 18 holes in 1992 by Cabell B. Robinson, a disciple of Robert Trent Jones and responsible for some other splendid layouts in the country at Les Dunes in Agadir, Amelkis in Marrakesh and El Jadida near Casablanca .

The course starts out through an open parkland like environment lined with exotic trees , plants and shrubbery before winding through sand dunes and dense shrubbery sculpted by the wind well in line with traditional British links. With superb Mediterranean views and very little development this is a wonderful environmment to play the game of golf. The caddies are a delight and a wonderful alternative to carts which have only arrived at this course in limited numbers.
