Located amid the Arenals de Mar estate, on dunes covered by an immense pine grove planted some seventy years ago.

Golf Platja de Pals was designed in the early sixties by Baltasar Parera Vilar and his wife but work did not begin until the end of 1964 under the project management of the English architect Fred Hawtree.

The promoters respect for nature reached such a point that it was forbidden to cut down a single pine tree on the estate unless previously and personally marked by them.

The first nine holes of the first golf course on the Costa Brava opened in the summer of 1966, the other nine holes were completed two years later. The International Amateur Championship of Spain was played here in 1970 followed two years later by the Spanish Open in 1972.
